Setting Up Windows NT To Dial-up The Internet.
Print these instructions before you start
For the following instructions be sure you are logged on to Windows NT as "Administrator"
Go to "My Computer" and click on "Dial-up Networking
The
Following screen appears:
Pick "Yes" and
this screen appears:
Depending on your modem you
may need to pick your modem from a list rather than
having Windows NT detect
it, Generally this is a "Standard 28.8K modem.
Once
you have completed the above steps this screen appears to confirm that your
modem is installed properly.
Pick "OK"
on this screen.
Then pick Network... from this
menu.
Check off ONLY
TCP/IP and click "OK"
Then click on Configure... and select the amount of
security you wish to assign to your modem.
at a minimum you must have
Dial out only
Click
"Restart" to finish the configuration.
Go
to "My Computer", "Dial-up Networking" and this screen is
shown.
Have your screen match the following
screen and press "Finish"
Now click
each of the upper tabs and have each screen match the respective
Tab
shown in the images below. Then click on TCP/IP

Now
click on More
and
set your logon preferences in the dialing screen to your likings,
you should
set the redial to 99 and the idle seconds to 0
Then
click on "OK"
The next time you click on dial you will be
shown the following screen. Fill it out as
shown below (changing the login
name to yours)
BE SURE THAT THE "Domain" Field is
After you click on "OK" the computer will dial,
and you will get a connected message, after this you are free to surf the net.
